Announcements Minimize
Hearing Loss Association of Fort Worth

Meeting: Saturday, July 12, 10:00 AM to noon.

Program: Captioned movie "Amazing Grace"

"Amazing Grace" is the inspiring story of William Wilberforce and his campaign of many years to abolish slavery in England.  It includes his contacts with John Newton, the former slave ship captain who became converted to Christianity and later became a Church of England priest.  Newton wrote the hymn "Amazing Grace," from which the movie gets its title.

A new biography of William Wilberforce has come out fairly recently, and his life is well worth knowing.  This man, by peaceful means, over many years, brought about a revolutionary change in England which spread to America and around the world.  It shows the impact an individual can have, working in concert with others of like mind and values.

Refreshments at 9:30.
