Deaf Senior Citizens Minimize

Retired deaf persons can become isolated. No longer working, they need social interaction with other deaf people and people who know how to communicate with them and help them maintain their vitality. The Deaf Senior Citizens Program at the Goodrich Center offers a variety of activities, programs, and services such as health, nutrition, education, enrichment, personal growth, and recreation. The group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 AM—2:00 PM. Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County provides hot lunches for the program. The Deaf Senior Citizens Group, age 60 and over, communicates primarily by sign language.

History of Seniors Group Minimize

The Deaf Senior Citizens Club was started in 1976. It has remained active ever since, making it the longest continually functioning deaf senior citizen program in the state.
